I start today with a passage in Ezekiel 22:30 where God says He will save Israel if He could find just one person to stand in the gap and intercede for them. Sadly He found none. I would hate to know that one of my children or loved ones could have been saved from something if only I had been willing to stand in the gap and cry out to God for their sake.

Paul begs them in Romans to go to God for his sake. That he would be able to return to them refreshed. Again in Colossians that God would open a door for them to speak the word. Our prayers of intersession are not always for safety or healing, but sometimes so that another work could go on for the Lord. In 1 Thessalonians he keeps it simple Brethren, pray for us.

I would like to challenge you to think of a person or persons who you know could use someone to stand in the gap for them. Maybe it is healing, job, or relationship related, whatever it is, boldly go before the Throne of grace for them. You may never know this side of heaven what a difference it made.

Lastly, maybe you have in mind someone who did just that for you. Thank the Lord for that person in your life. Because without them who knows where you would be.
